Generate a random UK postcode

Press roll to get a real, live UK postcode with its district, ward, county, constituency, coordinates and grid reference. Copy the postcode or a full mock address in one click. Filter by England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland or London, or choose a specific postcode area.

What people use random postcodes for

Testing checkout and address forms, seeding databases with realistic data, checking delivery-zone logic, and filling in a UK zip code when an overseas site asks for one. The UK has no numeric ZIP codes: a postcode such as SW1A 1AA is the equivalent.

UK postcode format

A postcode has an outward code (area and district, e.g. SW1A) and an inward code (sector and unit, e.g. 1AA). Postcodes are 5 to 7 characters long, not counting the space.
